The next morning, I really did not feel like going to school. I knew more was coming from Ah Keong, and it was something that I did not want to face. But still I too did not want them to think I was frightened of them, as I made up my mind to go to school.

I did the usual routine, and left the girls their good morning voicemails. But I did not see the girl at the bus stop today, I took a look at my watch I was late by 5 mins due to my morning struggles.

I was playing Basketball with my basketball mates when I saw Ah Keong walked towards the court, I t was almost certain he was after me but I did not bother and carried on with the game. True enough so someone pulled me on the back of my tees, It was Keong and soon my Basketball mates surrounded him.

Ah keong told them it was non of their business and he was after me, but seeing that there were 10 of us and he was alone at the court. He gave me a punch in to stomach, before telling me that he will look for me later.

Ah Keong went off after that and I was grateful that my basketball mate stood up against Keong for me. They carried on the game as I rest on the side, Keong's punch was nasty and it really hurted. Fear stucked me as I think about the rest of the day, Will Keong come after me himself today?

As time for the morning assembly is near, I saw students gathering forming lines of their own classes. I have to be honest that the thought of running out of school did come to my mind, but not wanting to be know as a wimp I stayed.

I was back in class after the assembly and Ah Kai came in during the middle of the first lesson, Ah Kai just raised his hand to say hi to me and I just he must have felt bad about yesterday's fight, not knowing I was actually glad that he was the one that fought me yesterday.

It became normal for Ah Kai to disappear the lesson before Recess and it was the same today, but to my surprise he came back after a while. He came to not to have small talks like we used to, Instead he told me that Ah Keong was looking for me and he was tasked to get me there.

I did not resist as I too did not want Ah Kai to be in a difficult position, as we always say 1 person get whacked is better than 2 persons. I followed Ah Kai and we ended up at the same toilet yesterday, Ah Keong was already smoking in side the toilet as he turned to look at me.

Ah Keong: I said I will look for you, not bad ah never runaway.

I did not answer Keong but i walk towards the same position where I fought yesterday, where I resigned to my fate.

Me: Kai, Faster settle leh.

Keong: Siao eh, who are you to decide who fight you.

Ah Keong asked Ah Kai to go out and guard the door asking him to make sure I could not escape the toilet.

I started to shiver a little, as I knew it was Ah Keong that will be dealing with me today.

I guess ah Keong's punch in the morning did make me fear him mentally, I knew that ultimately I still had to fight him but I just wanted to delay it as I really wasn't expecting this

Me: Eh Keong then who smoke the cigarette?

Keong: No need for cigarette lah , I settle you very fast.

Ah Keong charged at me holding his fist up and I shifted myself to avoid it, I was lucky as his punch connected on a small part of my shoulder. I did not receive the full impact of the blow and was managed to get away from Keong.

Keong: Siam (avoid) ah? See how long you can siam! (avoid)

I have guarded myself during the fight with Kai previously, as I seen Ah Kai as a buddy which I won't never hit not matter what the reason. But for ah Keong, there was never such a bond and I know I needed to at least make my stand. I clinched both my fists, I had to take Keong on.

Keong motion to me to go at him: Correct lah, like that then like a man mah.

I gathered all my strength onto my right arm and charged towards Keong, hitting him on the face but Keong too gave me a punch on my stomach.

I felt the pain on my stomach but carried on swinging my arms like a madman, Keong kicked me a couple of times, and I was on the ground. He came after me and was attacking me again, I kick toward his direction and felt I had got him too. How ever he managed to stand over on me, and was holding my collar. I was bashed by him hard and all I could do was to guard my face with my arms.

He finally let go and left me on the ground.

Keong: Si Gina, Peng Ho Giao (Stupid kid, Not bad can fight)

Ah Keong walked out of the toilet and I could hear him talking to Ah Kai.

I laid there panting and slowly picked myself up, Ah Kai came in and told me it was over. I gave him a puzzled look, and could not really understand what he mean. Ah Kai ask me to follow him, and we soon joined up with Ah Keong and the rest.

We left the school via a hole in the fence, (never knew who cut the hole), following the group toward a nearby HDB estate.

On the way, I was thinking if they were bringing some place for a basking session or even worse maybe bringing me to Orh Pah. We walked to a coffeeshop and Ah Kai told me to sit, I felt funny as we were out during school hours, and I was wondering what was going on when Ah Keong spoke.

Keong: Eh, don't worry we just come out to eat only.

Ah Kai returned and said he ordered noodles for me, and Ah Keong starts telling the guys that I can fight, showing them a faint shoe print I left on his shirt. Ah Keong then told me he thought I thought that I was cocky and wanted to teach me a lesson, but after my fight with Ah Kai he realised that I was loyal to my brothers and was not bad at all.

Me: Then why you still beat me today?

Ah Keong laughed and turn to the 2 guys and Ah Kai.

Keong looked at each of them: If Cindy ask you got beat this fellow or not, What you say.

Kai: I beat him in toilet .

The two guys: We beat him till he run.

Keong: Lim Bei Hor Yi Pi Tor Kah ( I made him fall to the floor flat)

They were all laughing but I could not make out why,

Keong: Don't worry from today on we won't beat you, They can answer Cindy already and they never lie what we really got beat you.

I was relieved by the statement Keong made, but i could not help but ask this question.

Me: Keong, Why you listen to Cindy.

Keong: I not listening to Cindy, I just give her face because she is Orh Pah's God Sister. (till date i could not understand this statement)

I did not understand but I did not care since I am not getting more beating in school, I just nodded in agreement with whatever he said.

Keong: You really don't want to chup ah? (Join Gang)

Me: Keong, If I want to join, I also don't need to let you beat then join.

Our food came and we ate before going back to school, It was Funny that 30 mins ago we were in a fight and now we were eating together. it was around the second lesson after recess that Kai and me entered the classroom.
