Reached Batam @10am Batam Centre, took Majestic Ferry, (of all the ferry going and return to Batam-SG.. Majestic seems less crowded compare to batamfast and sindo ferry). I usually buy my majestic tickets at the tour and travel agency shop near their POS Indonesia (post-office). Cost me 290k ($29) all in. Can get tickets from moneychanger there too at 300k-330k (sindo, majestic, batamfast). Saves more than $10 compare to if you buy over the counter in SG. I prefer the comfort of horizon ferry and harborbay, but since my house is nearby to batam centre, I have to alight and depart there.

Took an ojek from batam centre to DC mall area to change some $. Rate is 9670. Walk over to Hallo kitty to look for my previous girl (the counter girl told me she's hot working due to illness) damn my luck. Walk over to beauty2 massage, once again counter told me the girl that I want haven't reach work yet (grr). So I ask for the album and pick a new girl

Next time if you die die wish to change from Harbour Bay which usually offers the worst rate in Batam,look for Harbour Mart. If you can find a Chinese young man in the shop,check with him for SGD to IDR rate.(he will usually ask you how much you want,hehehe...or how much other shops offer) Tell him the price quoted to you beside Harbour Mart 's money changer,he will usually beat their rate.

3 person go Batam, each person change around S$250,can numbers up to S$750 anytime. With S$750,you are in a position to get a good price.

Yea,S$73 is a bit on the expensive side. Always check the hotel pricing around online sites and make comparison.

The photo was taken when the mall just started. I have the same thought too (on it being a very quiet place),if i have nothing much to do in the day,heading there to look look see see isnt a bad choice either. Afterall,i am still a tourist in Batam.

Catch a movie,eat something there,walk around...half my day gone. Its got air-con in it,hehehe...no need to be out in the hot sun for too long. I may melt,hehehe...

Part 2

27-28 March 2016 2D1N

After all the shopping ( 1 from NB and 2 from Happy)were done, we headed back to Ggi to checkin. It was around 330pm.
Upon arrival , receptionist told us only 1 room was available.
OMG.. 4 star hotel with super late checkin.
No choice, Laurel and Hardy put their belongings into my room while we chit chat and wait for the gals to come at 430pm.

Fast forward, 4pm. Still no news about the availability of 2 other rooms. This time, i have a strong feeling that it is gonna be a bad trip as things are not going too well.
Stormed down with L&H to the reception to ask for the rooms. Told the receptionist that we saw many rooms were cleaned and available becos on the the way down, passed by some rooms and saw the room attendants just sitting and playing with their handphones in the cleaned room.
No wonder no rooms are available as the front desk was not notifiied.

To cut the story short.. L&H only managed to get their rooms at 430pm while gals arrived on time at 4pm

It was OTOT all the way till diner time at 7pm.

My gal N2 from NB was a petite, quiet and A cup gal.
BJ and FJ 7/10. Overall only 6/10 for the first round.
No communication and chemistry at all as she plays her handphone during her free time.

From my past experience, i am not too bothered abt it as i know its just not my trip this time. The next one will be better.

Met up with L&H and we headed to Marine Seafood for dinner.
We orderd 9 dishes consisting of tom yam, crab corn soup, omelette , chicken , vegetables and other meat which i cannot remember but no fish. Had 2 bottles of Tiger beer as well.
The total bill for food and beverages for 7 pax including 3 gals and driver came out to be 820,000.
Overall 7/10.

After dinner, the time was around 9pm and we decided to go the Ggi Club which is a disco in the hotel.

Ordered 1 jug of Carlsberg which came to 325,000.
Its overpriced but I just wanted L&H to experience Batam nightlife without travelled too far.

Nothing special abt the club as it was too early and there were only 30 people including us. Music was Hip Hop.
Finished our beer in 1 hour and headed back to our respective rooms for OTOT.

And my nightmare continues..

wow the beer is even more expensive than sg. The worst part hotel empty with alot rooms but u all cramping in one room . Next time just get a family suites room :

For a short-distance taxi ride (Nagoya, Jodoh, Harbour Bay), yes you're right the standard fee is 50k, but negotiable down by hard bargainers (do you know any? ) to 40k or less (in HB, they pay the entrance fee).

For the ojek, the standard fare for a short-distance ride (Nagoya, Jodoh,...) is 10k. I suggest to pay 15k to be not stingy with a poor worker. 30k for Formosa-A2-Formosa could be ok. I mostly pay 15k for a single ride. 20k could be given at night or if one wants to be very generous. 30k for a single ojek ride is too much.

i read from another senior bro, for short trips ard nagoya area local prices are more like: 7-10k for ojek, 20-25k for taxi. but my bahasa indonesia not good enough to bargain down to local prices, so i also pay like 10-15k for ojeks usually haven't taken taxi quite some time, unless raining
