Lol..old fashion Barber Shop. I go to the old fashion barbershop for my monthly haircut. Cost like 13k ($1.50). Add a bit more if u wanna them to shave ya clean too,sometimes they even add in some head/shoulder massage..

Yes, these old time barbers are cheap, and they are clean too... Always use a new blade for shaving. And they add in a big of massage too. cost is below 20K...

Try reading the last 30 pages of this thread. It will help if you think you are new to Batam. If you have more time,try reading the information on my signature too.

Batam is also a place that one can go alone. It will be like going to Sentosa,except you need to bring passport. Language-wise should be alright as most in Batam have no problem with broken English. Otherwise "sign" language is another alternative too. If all else fail,try google translate.

If you are a 1st timer :

1. Get a room from booking.com or agoda.com

2. Book a ticket from Harbour Front to Harbour Bay at horizonfastferry.com

3. Take your ferry to reach Harbour Bay ,Batam

4. Grab a taxi from Harbour Bay to head to the Hotel you book. Carrot head taxi prices is around 70k ,50k-60k is norm,bargained price is around 30k.

5. Tell your taxi driver to bring you go find girl after you check in hotel if you wish,ask him to wait. Otherwise,ask your hotel receptionist to grab you another taxi driver. Point A to point B usually cost 30k - 50k before bargain. Always negotiate with the taxi driver before you hop on.

6. After everything done,next day just go back Sillypore the same way you came.

7. Come back to this thread to share your experience and in your next trip, you will be able to understand Batam much better.
