I agreed with most parts of what you just said above hence I have never once try to teach newbie who just start to walk (in batam) to fly. It may hurt them if they didn't get the basic right and may hurt me if they start being reckless (reckless = do things w/o being considerate). The basic Batam walkthrough guide on my signature were meant for them to learn the basic ropes ,set their foot to batam....and return safely. Not for them to fulfill their high expectation which was much often misunderstood. Not right?
Most time,i advise them to keep expectation low or if a newbie's expectation goes too high (eg,words like i am looking for SSYT,price dont matter etc), cut that down by at least 50%. Not that there are not much SSYTs, but in all major joints there are bound to be a range of lookers and non-lookers.
